Gressoney Valley – also known as Lys Valley from the name of the river that flows along it – is the longest valley of the Region. In about 30 km you can admire the wineyards in Donnas and arrive to the eternal snow of the Glacier passing through a wonderful territory, suggestive scenaries, traditional villages, some fairy place and unforgettable views over the Monte Rosa.
All the accommodation of this trekking offer, together with a friendly and warm welcome, typical dishes prepared with local products. It is not unusual to find interesting cellar with a good selection of wines.
The accommodation are old stone houses, renovated with passion maintaining the traditional style, in which it is easy to feel like home. The accommodation is in a double room with private bathroom, except in the refuges (Orestes Huette, Barma, Alpenzu) where the accommodation is in comfortable shared rooms (or, with a supplement and subject to availability, it is possible to reserve the double room). The Paths of Lys include the trekking bus service, to move luggage from one stage point to the next (not available in the refuges), allowing the hiker to travel light and find their belongings at the destination, and the picnic pack, provided by the same stage points.
